About

Sam Groth is an astrophotographer based in western Colorado. Sam seeks to glorify God by providing new perspectives and bringing to light the often overlooked.
Sam utilizes his technical expertise with a computer science degree from one of the top ranked programs at the University of Illinois as well as many years of coding, mentoring, and leading teams between multiple top technology companies to bring night sky scenes to life through a combination of comprehensive understanding of equipment and spontaneous creativity (and occasionally detailed planning). Sam is now dedicated to helping you reach your astrophotography goals.

Sam also has setup a remote telescope and enjoys the challenge of producing 30+ hour exposure deep sky photos composed of many 5-20 minutes frames.

Sam supports astronomy and astrophotography education by volunteering on the board of the local Western Colorado Astronomy Club. He also enjoys educating others on the astrophotography process giving presentations at 3 different astronomy clubs last year.

When he is not completely occupied with astrophotography, Sam is also a Part 107 licensed drone pilot and enjoys producing aerial photography and videography especially around off-roading in the San Juan mountains!
